Think on the Run

Strategy

Expect anything. Expect everything.

Develop a support team of smart folks. You can always call these people if you can't solve the clues that lead you to your checkpoints. (You won't have access to these people during the Trivia Challenge though' you're on your own there.)

They'll want access to maps, internet connections, encyclopedias, and Latin-Icelandic translation books.

Know your bus routes. A time will definitely come when you'll gain the advantage if you hop that bus.

Get outside. You and your partner will be on your feet for a while, so get outside and get fit. It will make the day more fun.

Read the rules. We know you just read the rules, but read them again. This is an event unlike any other, and it's up to you to be aware. Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Sharpen your mind. Read the newspaper and other periodicals. Do the daily puzzles and crosswords. Check out a trivia website. Read a non-fiction book.

Gear

Prepare like you would for any fast day in the city.

You'll want some cash, some water, and a bus book. You may also want a city map if you're unfamiliar with the city. A wireless internet device for answers could be handy too. Will you need a GPS device? Maybe, maybe not.

You'll be exposed to the elements, so dress for rain or shine. Sunblock, windbreaker — all that stuff your mama told you to wear when you go out and play.
