Denver Participants Say…
Awesome fun!
Outstanding, it rocked!
An incredible time, really fun.
UC staff rocks!
The UC turned the mile high city into a great pinball game—they released us on the course, we bounced off each other, through checkpoints, even tilted a couple times! Best adventure since that time we were drunk, at 3 am, with one shoe ...
Dopeass race, didn't know what I was getting into, made it all the more better and I really tested myself (it humbled me, too)
I had to run with a cramp in my calf, while dodging people on the 16th Street Mall. Rock on!
YEAH!
It turned me into an animal.
Lots of fun. Will do it again and bring friends. Come back.
Sometimes it's good not to know what you're getting into.
100% pure urban adrenalin!
This race kicks ass and so did we...
Kicked my ass and I loved every minute!
My legs hurt!
I was sincerely surprised how excited I was to see the Skip Man.
Extremely original--great change from regular racing. Love the teamwork.
You guys did a great job of organizing this.
Supercalifragilistic…

An amazingly resourceful group from Colorado ran Urban Challenge Denver. A light rain the previous night cooled the city and cleared the air of wildfire smoke.

Winners:
Christopher Thomas Bennett and Spenser Casey nabbed first place. Shawn Michael Snow and Kevin Pharris took second place in a race in which winners were determined by getting those checkpoints just right. Julie Ryan Blankinship and David Blankinship, husband/wife and Bolder Boulder runners, got third. Complete list of winners »

ConciergeCheckpoints:
Some checkpoints contained bits of Denver trivia and history, and Challengers poured into nearby Tattered Cover bookstore as well as the public libraries. The first team into the library waited patiently while librarians did a methodical (SLOW!) search and came up with answers. Lucky teams came in later and librarians had info at the ready.
A big help was the concierge at the Oxford Hotel, who directed Challengers galore to the cowboy mural down the alley.
One couple found most of their help from a blind man on the bus. On the same bus was a 100-mile ultra-marathoner. He heard what kind of race the Challengers were running and called them "crazy." Check out the checkpoints »

Trivia Challenge:

Thanks:
Our thanks to VitaCube for being a great sponsor and making their van a checkpoint. A huge thanks goes to Denver RTD who provided free passes to the Denver Challengers. Thanks also to Wynkoop Brewing Company — their fine chile beer was a welcome brunch.
