What do you plan to do
with $50,000? dennis plans to continue not working,
being a house husband and adventure racing professionally
if we are fortunate enough to win • tara plans to continue
teaching kindergarten, trying to adventure race professionally,
and appreciate all of Dennis' hard work at home!
How did you two meet?
We both met through bicycle racing and training, then we did
an adventure race together in colorado where Dennis and his
teammates were instrumental in rescuing Tara from a 300 foot
fall down a cliff when she fell on her mountain bike. After
that the rest is history, we are getting married on June 21st,
2003 at Snowbowl Ski Resort in our new home of Flagstaff,
Arizona.
What do you like best about
Urban Challenge: Out of the hundreds of races we have
done, this race is so unique and is so incredibly fun and
challenging. You do not need to be the fastest or the smartest
to win, but you have to have a combination of speed, smarts,
tons of luck and a great support crew to get you to the line
the fastest. The urban aspect is very exciting and the organization
of the promoters is awesome!
How are you preparing for
the finals? We are scouting las vegas and its' many
sights in the weeks prior to the race, and preparing our support
crew with as much info as possible. We are also doing the
usual running and hiking for the physical preparation.
Advice for the competition?
The only advice I have for the competition is get the hell
out of our way! (just kidding) JUST HAVE FUN!!!
