Resting in peace: Mr. Jimmie Martinez worked for the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department for over 20 years. Most of that time was spent in Zilker Park, caring for the grounds and the people who used them. Find his memorial plaque, nestled amongst plantings in a bed dedicated to him. Get to Philosopher’s Rock in Zilker Park, and you’re within 100 yards of the memorial to Martinez. A photo with the plants and/or memorial plaque works for us.
