CHECKPOINT 11 CLUE

Lexington Vice Squad: Committed to the education of children in Fayette County, Edythe Jones Hayes recently had a new Middle School named after her. Her early home in the MLK neighborhood can be found by solving the following convoluted word problem that relies on nothing but elementary school math.

Four US vice presidents have been Kentuckians. Imagine they get points for every calendar year they served. As an example, Richard M. Johnson served from 1837 to 1841. He gets 9195 points (1837 + 1838 + 1839 + 1840 + 1841 = 9195). As the first Kentuckian to serve as VP, he places last in the number of points.

Find the three remaining Kentucky VP scores.

Then calculate the difference in points of the first place winner (the most recent) from the third place VP (the one who served after Johnson).

Subtract 6 from the difference you found, and you have the address on Silver Maple Way where Hayes spent her early years. Get your photo with the house in the background (no need to go to the door and bug the residents, please).
